My everything

At the moment of writing, I am a young woman , age 20, sitting comfortably on a wooden chair, listening to zikir to soothes my mixed feelings, carving a smile across my cute lil face, with a heart who can no longer hide what I am truly feeling right now. I feel A LOT.

Only if I could explain, however as cliche as it might sounds, no words can decribe how I truly feel. Thank you Allah for everything, for every single blessings. Alhamdulillah, I am blessed with having supportive parents, a very strong mother whom I admire so much, a supportive father who always care about my wellbeing. Alhamdulillah for my siblings, without whom, my childhood would  not be as colourful as I had. My dear sister whom I love, my ultimate favourite person. Even writing this down make me so touched.  Because I know, I'm gonna miss them so much. And I miss them already. Ya Allah, please grant us happiness here and hereafter because I love them so much.

Ciao!

TB Test di Life Care Bangsar South

Assalamualaikum.
Ciao (currently learning italian a bit ;)

As the tittle says, I want to share my experience going through tb test , as it is one of the requirement needed for uk visa.

1) Don't worry too much. Just focus on what you can do and PLAN AHEAD!

2) Life Care TB test This link will direct you to all the documents needed beforehand.
Bring PASSPORT, RECENT PHOTO and know your uni address. And it says this process will take 3 hours. Yup, true. I went in at 10 am and got back at 1 p.m. No appoinment , just walk in.

3) Special tips: Come as early as possible to speed up overall process. Bring any kind of entertainment (books, charged phones) because the waiting for the tb test (which is an x ray) can be quite boring. Thanks for the comfy couch and serene environment, I was quite happy with it.

4) The staffs are friendly and amazing, you don't have to worry about  anything bacause they will guide you through the process.

That's it! Hope you have such an amazing day !

On retainer

I wore braces for 2 years, and had to wear retainer after that for 6 months so that my teeth are not moving for worse. However, I am so lazy to wear it more that 18 hours per day as the dentist told me. I know it is not good but somehow I found it very annoying to put it on and off before and after meal. My retainer is the clear plastic one, so I had to be very careful no to miss it and always put in a special container so that I won't lose it. Anyway, lat week, I LOST it. I took it before eating a burger, and forgot to bring the case with me, so I wrap it with tissue. And I forgot about it, and just left it there after eating. I think my retainer is most likely ended up in the trash bin. Hmm,, I need a new one and for that I might need to spend about RM300+. I hope I can get it sorted out as soon as possible and manage to get it cheaper. Hopefully. May Allah ease.

Cara Buat Passport

Nak share sikit cara buat passport.

2) Lepas nombor giliran dipanggil, pergi dekat kaunter and officer tu akan minta scan ibu jari , and ambil gambar terus kat situ. Oh, and dia ada tanya tinggi berapa, so make sure tahu ya. Untuk perempuan sila pakai tudung hitam atau warna gelap. Aku pakai tudung hitam bawal je, senang. Baju pun kalau boleh warna gelap sebab kalau tak kena pakai blazer yang disediakan. Nasib baik aku pakai cardigan warna gelap masa tu. Kalau tak rosak tudung nak betul2 kan balik, Hehe. Ambil gambar haruslah lawaa.

3) Next, lepas ambil gambar, pergi dekat kaunter bayaran. Kaunter2 ni sangat berdekatan, confirm senang nak cari, so tak perlu risau and officer tu akan bagitahu nak buat apa. Tunggu kejap sampai nama kena panggil dekat kaunter bayaran, and terus bayar . RM200 untuk 5 tahun, RM100 untuk 2 tahun, Lepas bayar, dia akan bagi resit. Ambil resit tu and LETAK kat atas kaunter kutipan passport. Aku tak tahu kena letak resit kat situ sebab orang tu cakap tunggu sejam . Aku pun tunggu la kejap sampai dalam 15 minit, aku pergi kat kaunter kutipan passport, dia kata letak resit dekat situ, kalau tak sampai petang pun tak dapat huhu. Tak sampai 5 minit lepastu , passport dah siap! Semua proses ni tak sampai 40 minit! yayy happy sebab aku la manusia paling 'rajin' bab2 uruskan dokumen. hehe. Tapi aku sistematik sebab tak nak serabut buat last minute.

Next, aku kena buat medical check up, TB test and lengkapkan visa nak sambung belajar ke UK :)

Semoga Allah permudahkan urusan dan harap2 benda aku tulis ni membantu .

Adios !

Review Teeth Trainer

Assalamualaikum,

Aku nak share pasal teeth trainer yang aku pakai dah 5 bulan . Kenapa aku pakai? Sebenarnya aku dah pernah pakai braces untuk 2 tahun setengah. Tapi, aku still tak puas hati sangat dengan end result tu.... (mengada perfectionist). So, aku pun cubalah nasib dengan beli teeth trainer ni. Sehari pakai je dah rasa perubahan sangat maybe sebab gusi aku lembut baru lepas pakai braces, so gigi cepat je beralih. Memang akan rasa sengal sikit bahagian gusi  tapi aku dah biasa dah. Aku happy sangat sebab gusi pun berubah bentuk, and gap between gigi aku dah tak sebesar dulu.
Kalau nak pakai untuk betulkan minor issue maybe berkesan, tapi for complicated one, aku tak sure sangat. Yang penting kena rajin! Aku memang malas sebenarnya nak pakai teeth trainer ni, kalau teringat je baru pakai. Retainer pun dah jarang pakai sebab retainer aku jenis clear yang ikut acuan masa bukak braces. Tu je nak share. One more thing, aku beli teeth trainer tu dekat ig, mahal jgk RM99, tapi now ada yang jual RM35 je :(

My Personal Statement Experience

Assalamualaikum :)

Road to UK Part 1

Writing personal statement is not an easy journey for me, but I was very happy and satisfied with the effort that I put in. It was hard word guys, seriously for me, because I put all my heart and soul into that little piece of essay. So, I would like to share my humble journey with anyone who are reading this right now! Little bit about me, I applied to UK Universities (2015), and was doing A-level. I applied and Alhamdulillah, got all the offers. Personal statement, is basically an essay with no longer than 4000 CHARACTERS (not words) or 47 lines.

It was hard for me...why? Because I am the type of person who loves to write long winded essay, so in order to fit in all the contents that I had in mind, was a real struggle, seriously!

Without further ado, let's jump into my tips on writing the best personal statement!

1. Take it easy.

I was panicked at first because I didn't know where and how to start. I even had to attend personal statement workshop 6 months before the deadline. The session was very helpful actually. First, always start with a fresh mind and believe that you can do this, truly believe you can. It helps to calm down the overwhelming feeling. Ease your mind and now, be ready to take the next step.

2. Plan contents

As the name suggest, the essay must be something personal, be very specific and detail. It's not possible  to stuff in all your experiences from kindergarten , it will be ridiculously long .So, be sure to select the most significant and relevant to the course you are applying . Don't make a list of your participation, instead try to analyse and evaluate the benefits and why those experience inspire you to read your course.  Be convincing and clear. It's also best to insert work attachment if you have one.

2.Draft A LOT

This is the most important part. Keep drafting until you feel very satisfied with it. I had so much fun drafting my personal statement during my journey on train, bus and in the car. Somehow my creative juice always came up when I was travelling, which was very nice.

3. Grammar

Absolutely important!  Ask help from more than one trusted person at least (if you need) to check on your grammar. I asked 3 people, all native speaker, and surprisingly, there's always improvement made each time.

4. Be happy with your personal statement and pray for the best !

BELIEVE YOU CAN, AND YOU ARE HALFWAY THERE.
Best wishes for you ~

Review : SIMPLE Refreshing Facial Wash Gel

Hello beautiful,

A great cleanser is very essential to purify the skin. So, here is my experience with SIMPLE facial wash;

I have been using SIMPLE Cleanser for more than 6 months  now. It is in colourless, odourless gel form which has quite a nice consistency, not too watery or too thick. I use it two times per day, Since I have a dry skin type, I always make sure the ingredients is not too harsh for my skin, and it seems that, for me, the formula is quite gentle. Applying the gel on my face is very easy as it slides smoothly. I could feel my skin refreshed right after using it , however, I somehow don't feel clean enough. That's why I usually use scrub before cleansing my face with this facial wash. This cleanser never give me acne and break out problem , but I don't think it can treat acne , since I don't have acne problems, so I cannot say much about it. I think, it's okay for me now, as the price is reasonable and
my skin does not give any negative reaction.

A-Level Tips

Hello Beautiful readers!

I could still remember someone told me that SPM is the hardest  part (considering the grade depends solely on exam), and tertiary education will be a lot easier than SPM. Maybe that's true for some people . But not for me. Surviving A-Level while achieving high-end,satisfying, terrific grades Iconsistently requires HARD WORK.

If you are planning to do A-level, there are  very important elements to consider (as a Malaysian student).

1. The institution and funding

Where to study?

There are many private institutions that offer A-level programme such as  Epsom, KTJ, KYUEM, Taylor's College, Sunway etc .  If you are privately funded ( by parents), quick tips; just google and don't be lazy to do serious research. Every information about the facilities, fees, and basically everything will be there. Be aware that you will be paying for what, , because some of the colleges provide food, laundry, accomodation while others don't, so the fees can vary significantly. Note the location of the college and identify whether you prefer green, quiet environment in the middle of nowhere or the hustle city experience.  Pick the one that you think suits you the best!

Based on my experience, I went to KTJ and tour around, personally, I love the clean, beautiful environment, so serene and peaceful. I prefer to study in this kind of place. However, knowing the fact that students wear school uniform just turns me off . And so, I went to another college with pretty much similar environment but with no school uniform. I am so happy with my choice and never regret!

Alternative funding is through scholarship!

2. Be mentally prepared

A-level is not that hard, but it can be very challenging. Speaking from my experience, even with 9A/10A+ does not guarantee that you will ace A-level . Logically as you go further in education, the deeper you will get, more and more new, overwhelming yet very exciting knowledge and discovery you will encounter, so expect the syllabus will go deeper and might be difficult at first. Anyway, don't worry, it's a learning process after all.

  • Always check the syllabus especially for sciences subjects (biology, chemistry), so that you know what are the examiners' expectations.
  • Learn by HEART. Enjoy the experience of learning.
  • Be involved in the activities that you like, something new , be brave to get out of your comfort zone.

3. Books

Books are expensive, so don't waste money by buying things you don't need. Wait until you get into college, and you will know through seniors or lecturer's recommendations. There will be booksale there, and even second-hand books . Just don't buy books before starting college unless you know precisely what you need.

4. Past Year Papers

Buying past year papers for all subjects is almost a necessity. It's a good investment because usually those are the type of questions that will come up in semester examinations. This helps me A LOT.

Best Wishes to you who are reading this!
I will share more about my college experience in the future, insyaAllah.

Exam week

Exam week

Dulu, masa sekolah menengah, 3 minggu before exam aku dah start study gila2. Aku antara manusia yang suka exam sebab best dapat jawab soalan lepastu compare markah dengan kawan2.

Tapi lepas masuk college buat A Level, perasaan and motivation nak study tu lain sikit. Ye la, dulu duduk dorm, kawan study, aku pun study la. Tapi now dah tak duduk dorm, study mostly dekat bilik, motivation tu kurang.

Aku pelik kenapa makin lama motivation tu kurang. Lepas termenung fikirkan benda ni aku rasa aku tahu kenapa.

Niat. Dulu masa sekolah menengah, every day aku niat nak pergi sekolah kerana Allah, tuntut ilmu.

Tapi now, bila teringat je aku niat. Dah tak sekerap dulu.

Penting sangat niat belajar kerana Allah. Usaha, usaha dan usaha, doa dan tawakal.

Semoga aku dapat keputusan cemerlang untuk A Level.

Xoxo

Look around yourself

Short story 1 : The Gift

Mars does not feel right. Her heart is torn apart as if her soul demand to escape from the body, seeking freedom and real constant happiness. Going to boarding school certainly helps her in many ways, but it is also one of the life events that trigger anxious feeling and insecurities building up endlessly. At times, she wants to own high end products, have tons of dresses, eating good food everyday just like her friends. But that never happen.

Then she realised something that she has been ignoring.

That rebel feeling does not helps her at all.

She wakes up. Try to comprehend that everyone is different. Different background, life events. Stop comparing with other people.

Set up fresh perspective that can calm the soul. Admire the goods in people, be inspired is such a lovely experience. Choose to be happy.

She lives happily ever after.

Tips for Scholarship Interview

Hello Beautiful Readers,

I have always wanted to share this with you , who are seeking for scholarship interview tips (especially Malaysian) . I wrote this based on my experience attending several interviews (exxonmobil, mmc, maybank, bank negara, um,mara) and I really hope that you find it useful.

1. Prepare all the documents needed *asap! *don't procrastinate
Highly recommended to use clear file like this for certs. It would be easier for the interviewer to browse through them.
You can use normal file for other documents, it would be better and hassle-free to be organised .

2. Plan out the COMFORTABLE outfit that you will be wearing

This is very important especially to ladies. I know it can be very tricky especially if it is your first time. Rest assured because I have several tips for ya! These are based on my observation during my interviews.

<3 Baju kurung ; in my opinion, the plain kurung seems more formal and classy-looking. I wore the plain top and printed kain. But u can wear any pattern that u like. Modest and nice.
Choose the colour that you think can give positive vibes!

<3 You can also opt for skirt or pants ( either long or short(knee length) ) , blouse and blazer is optional.

<3 Wear comfortable court shoes. Avoid flip flop, sandals and stiletto. I don't think you want to hurt yourself all day long, right?

<3 Whatever outfit that you wear on that day itself, be confident ( even though other people might think that you look weird ) Just be confident and bring it on !

3. Prepare for IQ test or any aptitude test

Some scholarship interviews require candidates to complete IQ test. So, it is very helpful if you can do exercises beforehand. There are a lot of IQ tests exercises that you can do (google!), this can help sharpen your reasoning skills because usually it involves patterns, numerical, diagrams.

4. Be prepared for any phone interview.

Usually the sponsor will notify you via email if they want (means not all sponsor do this) to carry out phone interview as a part of the whole process. So, make sure your phone is not silent, always keep it near to you and  it would be better to tell your family members about it so that they can alert and remind you if you are say; sleeping all the time  take a nap at noon.

5. Research course and sponsor

<3 If you are applying for a specific course; which most scholarships offer, the you gotta work your ass off in knowing in depth about it. Well, you won't look good if you can't answer about the subject that you want to pursue. Feed yourself with as much information that you can get via reading online , and asking people working or studying in that field . You will enjoy this process as much as I did if you truly into it . Come one,a little bit too much of enthusiasms is really beneficial !

<3 It is wise to at least having a rough idea about the background of your potential sponsor . Well, you don't have to memorise all the contents of (e.g Khazanah Nasional, PNB,Maybank) their websites, because sometimes if you act like you KNOW evertything about them, which in fact you don't, they might use it against you (like asking deep question say;explain investment revenues etc) . Stay humble and at the same time show your openness to learn something new.

6. Be early !  Plan your journey ahead!

<3 Get ENOUGH SLEEP the day before. Our brains cannot function efficiently if we are sleep deprived. Very important!

7. Mingle with other candidates. Make as many friends as you could.

Remember dear friends, even though we are technically competing with one another, there's nothing to lose in getting to know new friends. This is the fun part ! Have chat and it can helps you feel more comfortable, less intense and make it more memorable experience I hope :)

8. Have positive minds, attitude and behaviour

It is essential that you set your eyes on getting it, however you don't want to over do it. Keep it genuine, don't be pretentious and show the best version of yourself. Because psychologically, people can sense if you are being pretentious instead of genuine especially during group interview.

Group interview is not meant to assess who is the most outspoken and what not, but it is to observe teamwork. If you are a leader, you are expected encourage team members to bring out the best out of them in the progress of completing a particular task. However, if you are not the leader, just a normal team member, don't be upset about it because the position does not affect anything as long as you try your best to contribute brilliant ideas and help leaders to decide. Basically work together as a group! Overshadowing other people and conquering the whole discussion may results in slim chance in getting the scholarship. Take note , very important.

Pengalaman Interview Scholarship (part 1)

Hello beautiful readerss!
Post ni khas untuk anda yang sudi mendengar pengalaman aku interview scholarship :)
Jom imbas kembali :')
Okay, kisah bermula sekitar tahun 2014, lepas dapat result spm, mode scholarship aku terus on! aku antara mereka yang apply almost semua scholarship available. yela, education now kan mahal, tak mampu kalau takde scholarship, maka aku dengan semangat dan excited apply la .
Best sangat bagi aku apply benda ni. banyak benda aku belajar. Masu tu baru umur awal 18 tahun, fresh  lepasan spm. baru nak kenal dunia independent .
Okay sebelum merepek jauh, lets focus on scholaship!
Interview first yang aku pergi ialah Exxonmobil dekat J.W. Marriott hotel. masa tu aku apply course geology . lepas daftar, aku pun terus duduk kat tempat yang disediakan, siap ada tag nama atas meja. macam kat dalam hall nak exam la lebih kurang hihi. aku tak nervous langsung pergi interview ni. seriously, aku pun pelik dah la first time. aku rasa maybe sebab apa hmm niat kot. aku macam dari mula2 dah niat nak belajar daripada pengalaman pergi interview ni. takde la macam datang interview dengan perasaan aku mesti dapat! aku mesti dapat! orang lain yang datang pesaing aku ! haha
Lepas briefing, maka aku dikejutkan dengan berita bahawa ada test math and english essay. patutlah arrange table macam nak exam. aku dengan blur nya setelah 5 bulan tak tengok buku jawabla dengan menggunakan skil menembak hehe. susahhh weyhh soalan math dia. terkejut aku tengok simbol math yang tak pernah belajar masa spm. lagila laju aku hentamsajalalabu hehe... essay dia okayla sebab dia tanya pasal diri sendiri, aspiration gitu.
Tengah hari, makanan dah sedia. apalagi happy la aku menjamu selera makanan hotel sedap.
Sesi petang, dia bahagikan kumpulan. ada dua sesi interview. one to one session dengan group interview.
One to one interview , interviewer tanya la kenapa nak course tu.  haa korang kene ready tau dengan soalan  macam ni. tips aku, kalau ada course yang korang minat, apply la by heart. buat research pasal course tu. jangan malas okayy! kalau ada kenalan kerja or involve dalam bidang tu cuba la minta advice. very helpful tau.
Tapi untuk mereka yang tak sure nak ambil course apa, jangan panic ye hihi.it's completely fine. sama la macam macam aku hehe. masa tu aku mengamalkan konsep go with the flow. yela, buat apa nak stress2 kan. usaha jela sungguh2, ada rezeki dapatla . sebab tu la kot aku excited nak pergi interview. sebab aku tak niat nak compete. pergi, enjoy, learn, make new friendsss. bestt!
Group interview. dalam satu group ada 5 orang, groupmates telah ditetapkan. dia bagi satu topic lepastu discuss . perlu diingatkan, group interview ni nak test skill kita communicate and express ideas, bukan nak cari siapa yang cakap paling banyak , conquer everything and overshadow orang lain! sebaliknya, kalau jadi leader, cuba buat semua members bring the best out of them. kalau yang tak jadi leader, jangan risau tak effect perception interviewer, dengan syarat kene tunjukkan cooperation, hormat opinion orang lain and suggestkan idea yang bernas . Apa yang penting??? kerjasama :)
Lepastu balik rumah :)
In case you guys wondering kenapa aku tak tulis detail macam soalan apa yang ditanya, Let me clarify :) sebab ... soalan dia tak tetap. takde format. lain tahun dorg ubah2. ni just outline flow and aku nak tekankan yang better apply something by heart. buat research pasal course tu, background sponsor. jangan pergi interview tapi tak tau pun exxonmobil tu apa. Google la sikit baru sungguh2 kan. niatt penting!
Insya Allah aku akan share pengalaman interview mara, um and bank negara dalam minggu ni jugak.  nantikan! hiks
Kalau ada apa2 nak tanya, boleh email , or drop comments ;)
